What makes cars like the Bugatti Veyron and Ferrari 599 more expensive than a Corvette ZR1 or Nissan GTR?

GTR and ZR1 both are superior in performance, for about 1/4 of the 599 and Veyron's prices.|||What they said.|||Chevrolet and Nissan are MASSIVE economic power plants, whereas Bugatti and Ferrari are specific, and have much less financial dynamics. When Bugatti or Ferrari make a car, there is massive Research %26amp; Development done (just like any car) but because Bugatti and Ferrari are must smaller companies compared to Chevrolet and Ferrari, they have to rack up the price to cover their cost. Nissan and Chevrolet are cheapers because they have a lot more standard income to cover this.|||Both the GTR and ZR1 are great cars and great bargains - but if you thing either is superior to the Veyron performance wise you haven't been paying attention. The "base" Veyron can go over 250 MPH, far more than the others.

Also both are far less than 1/4 of the Veyron's price.

All that said - it's all about exclusivity - the Veyron (and to a lesser degree Ferrari) has it. There are more GTR's and ZR1's in California than their are Veyrons worldwide. When a vehicle is low volume the price has to go up to cover the R%26amp;D costs. VW loses money on every Veyron sold despite the high price.|||Becausethe bugatti(which is the fastest normal car ever) and ferarri use expensive computers and much sophistication to make it not only perform good but to have tons of capabilities. And the corvette and nissan are built with all of the design towards speed so it neglects other parts of the design such as cheaper features and interior design. And u said they are also superior in performance. The corvette is faster than the ferarri but only 3 or 4 mph difference and the veyron is the fastest and best street legal car on the market|||Am guessing ferrari uses more hand made parts that drive the price up or more hand work just like the rolls royce and the chrsler 300
