Say you're insured up to $300000 and you totaled Bugatti Veyron at a junction and it's your fault. Cost of this car is way above your insurance cap so do you have to pay the difference or is there a limit that a driver could be liable for?|||If it's judged to be your fault, you're legally liable for ALL the damage and injuries, and you're responsible for the difference above your insurance. This is why a lot of people carry $1 million umbrella policies! If you're really worried about such a thing happening, your agent can price an umbrella policy for you, usually $400-$500 a year, and it includes your auto and home liability.|||Do you plan on hitting a Bugatti Veyron? I have never even seen one of these. I most likely never will. Why would anyone even want one of these over priced cars when it isn't even the fastest car you can buy? Just the most expensive.
If I hit one I would be looking for a good lawyer.|||You would be liable for the expenses, but you can't squeeze blood from a turnip. Any one with a car like that would have uninsured drivers insurance in their complete coverage (or else they would be a fool).
